Favorite Folders allow you to organize your favorite homes into personalized lists, so you can plan your exchanges with clarity and intention.
Whether you're dreaming of Italy this summer, planning a winter escape, or saving ideas for long weekends, you can now structure your favorites in a way that reflects your travel intentions.
As a HomeExchange Collection member, you can organize both Classic and Collection homes within your folders.
When you add a home to your favorites, you’ll also receive automatic notifications if new availability is added. The homeowner is notified of your interest, which can often be the first step toward starting a conversation and planning an exchange.
How do I create a Favorite Folder?
The first time you add a home to your favorites, you’ll be invited to create your first folder.
Simply:
- Click the ❤️ icon on a home.
- Name your folder.
- Save — the home will automatically be added to that folder.
After that, each time you favorite a home, you can:
- Select an existing folder
- Or create a new one
You can create as many folders as you need to reflect your travel plans.
Where can I find my folders?
Go to My Favorites from your dashboard.
There, you’ll see:
- All your folders
- Sorted by most recently updated
- With the cover image reflecting the last home added
If you don’t have any favorites yet, an inspiration prompt will invite you to start exploring homes.
Can I rename or delete a folder?
Yes. From your Favorites page, you can:
- Rename a folder
- Delete a folder
If you delete a folder, all homes inside it will be removed from your favorites.
Can a home belong to multiple folders?
Each favorite home can belong to one folder at a time.
This keeps your organization clear and avoids duplicates across lists. If you change your mind, you can easily move a home to another folder.
How do I move a home to a different folder?
When you remove a home from a folder, a confirmation message will appear with a “Modify” option.
Clicking “Modify” allows you to select a different folder instead.
If you miss the message, simply click the ❤️ again to reopen the selection window.
Please note: if you remove a favorite while viewing a folder, the home may remain visible until the page is refreshed. Once refreshed, it will disappear from that folder.
What happens to my existing favorites?
All the homes you saved before the launch of Favorite Folders are automatically stored in a default folder called “My favorite homes.”
You can rename or reorganize this folder at any time.
What happens when I add multiple homes during a search?
If you're browsing homes within the same search and add several favorites in a row, they’ll automatically be added to the last folder you selected.
If you start a new search (for example, by changing destination), you’ll be asked again where you’d like to save your next favorite.
