Why do GuestPoints exist?
GuestPoints were created to facilitate non-reciprocal exchanges, when two members do not wish to travel to each other's homes at the same time or to the same destinations.
Example: a German couple wishes to stay at your home, but you would prefer to travel to Italy. Thanks to GuestPoints, they can stay at your home by offering you GuestPoints, which you can then use for your stay in Italy.
GuestPoints are therefore a way to reward your hospitality and to offer more flexibility in planning exchanges.
What is the value of my home in GuestPoints?
Each home has a GuestPoints value, automatically calculated based on several criteria:

Location,

Number of beds,
-
Available amenities.
As a HomeExchange Collection member, 50% additional GuestPoints are added to your home's recommended value.
👉 Good to know: You can adjust this value up to +30 GP per night compared to the amount suggested by HomeExchange. To do so:

Click on "My Home" in the drop-down menu at the top right,

Use the slider to adjust the number of GuestPoints per night.

We recommend keeping your nightly value close to the suggested amount to maximize your chances of attracting guests and successfully finalizing your exchanges.
How can I earn GuestPoints?

By hosting other members in your home: you will earn the GuestPoints value per night set for your home.

As a welcome bonus: you receive 1,050 GuestPoints upon joining HomeExchange Collection to help you arrange your first exchanges.
How do GuestPoints work for reciprocal and non-reciprocal exchanges?
1. Reciprocal exchanges:
You can choose to use GuestPoints or not.
By default, the system calculates the difference in GuestPoints between the two homes.
Example: your home is valued at 300 GP, and your partner's at 250 GP → you receive an additional 50 GP.
If you prefer an exchange without GuestPoints, simply set the value for both stays to 0 GP in your conversation.
2. Non-reciprocal exchanges:
When only one member travels, the GuestPoints needed or earned are indicated in the exchange details.
The transfer is processed automatically once the exchange is finalized.
What happens to GuestPoints in case of cancellation?

If your host cancels: the GuestPoints you used for the exchange will be automatically credited back to your account. Our team will contact you to assist you.

If your guest cancels: as a host, you will have the option, directly in your messaging thread, to choose whether to keep or refund the GuestPoints.
Please note that our team will contact you after a cancellation by your host, but if you need urgent assistance regarding the cancellation of your exchange, you can contact us directly.
