HomeExchange allows you to finalize two types of exchanges: reciprocal and non-reciprocal.
- Reciprocal exchange: I stay in the home of someone who will also stay in mine. I am both a host and a guest. This exchange can be simultaneous (my exchange partner and I stay in each other’s homes at the same time) or non-simultaneous (we exchange homes at different times).
- Non-reciprocal exchange: The host of the home where I want to stay is not interested in staying at my place. I offer them a predefined amount of GuestPoints per night as a thank you for their hospitality. I can also receive GuestPoints if I host someone but don’t want to stay at their place in return. Each home has a different value in GuestPoints per night. This amount is automatically calculated by the platform based on various criteria.

How can I know which type of exchange another member is interested in?
When you click on another member’s listing, you’ll see different colors on their calendar indicating their availability for each type of exchange.
If you receive a request, you’ll be able to see in the exchange details (on the right side of your conversation with the member) whether they are offering a reciprocal or a non-reciprocal exchange.
How does it work?
When you're looking for an exchange as a guest and find a home you’re interested in, you can click the "Contact" button on the listing page. A window will open where you can choose the type of exchange you want to propose.
You’ll then be able to discuss details with your potential exchange partner, such as: whether or not GuestPoints will be used, the dates, number of guests, key handover, check-in, etc.
The exchange must be pre-approved and then finalized in order to be official.
